Life's Tough When Your Spoiled Rotten

Completely Unnecessary But Fabulous

To Ink or Not to Ink, That is the Question

I've been seriously considering getting a tattoo. I wouldn't go this extreme...I'm not quite ready to take that leap. However, I am thinking of a small feather along my ribcage. Something with meaning to me but that everyone can't see. It's more personal that way. However, I have serious commitment issues - I can't even commit to a short term boyfriend. Plus I worry about sagging etc in 20 years. Am I over-thinking this? Does anyone have any advice or personal experience?

Return of the Prodigal Daughter

via Fuzz

Sorry I've been so bad! I've been in Puerto Rico and completely irresponsible in all ways. However, I'm back and promise to get my act together. I just found these images at Fuzz - so fantastic. I also read the newest Interview over break. While the article on Mary-Kate Olsen has been the talk of the town, it was the images of Milla Jovovich that caught my attention. They are so gorgeous in absolutely every way. I never paid her much attention but she is now my new girl crush! Her attitude is so fantastic and she kicks ass...literally (Have you seen her in Resident Evil?) Anyway, I definitely suggest checking it out. I'll post vacay photos soon! - Puerto Rico is gorgeous but mostly I just loved being warm

I just got back from Target. I went in search of a bathing suit for my upcoming trip and returned with only a pair of shoes! Oh well, they are fantastic. I managed to find the cheap version of some very Pierre Hardy black, high-heel strappy sandals. I couldn't manage to find a picture on the site but they look sort of like these. They do have a thicker front trap and more pyramid heels. I can't wait to rock them out with skinny pants and a killer attitude. What is it about heels that just make a girl have to strut?

Let's Have a Tea Party

I'm not generally a girly-girl, but there's something so appealing about tea parties. I don't know if it's simply the idea of a meal entirely made up of frivolous little snacks and sweets. Or if it's about remembering childhood. Or maybe it's just that everything involved is so damn cute! Whatever the case, I've been dreaming of having a crazy tea party with a bunch of friends. I'm thinking either something really chic - with beautiful flowers, pain au chocolat and popovers- or a crazy, mad-hatter, unbirthday-type party a la Alice and Wonderland? What's your vote?

Everyone Has a Down Day

via David Horvitz

I'm not really sure what's been going on with me lately. Today and yesterday I just felt...off. Everyone's had these days, when something just isn't right. Nothing horrible, or earth shattering has happened but you just can't quiet get into the swing of things -no matter how much coffee you drink. Trust me, I've tried. On these days there's nothing much you can do. One option is to follow the above suggestion. For me, it's putting on a fantastic pair of stilettos, listening to some music with serious attitude and trying to lose myself in some creative outlet.
We all have our little strategies. Some days they work and others they don't. However, as I try to remember, some days you float and some days you fly. You have to just ride the flow until there's that break in the universe which allows you to do something truly extraordinary.
Tomorrow I'm headed home for a few days before jetting off to Puerto Rico - I am so incredibly ready to be warm!

I Want A Crown

What I'm Feeling Right Now

She rocks...'nuff said

Who Wears Short Shorts

It's unbelievably cold out today - wind, snow yuck! I am so ready for spring and an end to my constant chilled state. And in that spirit, I dug out an old pair of baggy jeans and decided to make cut-offs. What do you think? I am so excited to wear them on my trip to Puerto Rico in a week! What do you do to get out of the winter blahs?

I Ain't Born Typical

Via thekills.tv

If you haven't heard these guys, you need to. The Kills are an absolutely amazing band made up of Alison Mosshart ("VV") and Jamie Hince ("Hotel"). I love their soulful, eclectic sound - especially when I'm working on one of my pieces. It really gets my creativity flowing. My current favs are "Black Balloon" and "U.R.A Fever". I seriously listen to them on repeat! Plus these two have the best style. I kinda wanna be the third member - Call me you guys!

KK's Closet

Sorry about the crappy quality but I was home all alone today! Also please excuse the marked absence of makeup. Anyway this is what I wore today, inspired by my desire to be the model for Umit Benan (see previous post). The sweater is a hand-me down find but I think it's originally from express. The jeans are Zara, Halogen tee shirt, and flea market scarf.

As you will learn, I am a major thrift store good. I love a good bargain but mostly it's about the story behind a piece. Plus I like having unique pieces and the fact that resources aren't being wasted. Oh ya...and I'm broke!

If I were A Man...

Via umitbenan.com

I'd be this guy. Seriously - Coolest. Old guy. Ever. I ran across him on Fuzz, which is an amazing blog. You should check it out! Anyway, he's the model for Umit Benan and so incredibly BA. If I were to come back as a man, (which really isn't a goal of mine, I swear), but if it happened, I'd have to be him. Okay, this probably will change tomorrow but for today - ya definitely him.
Who would you be?

The line itself is incredibly. I love the old school look mixed with a grunge-like feel. I could leave the long underwear look, but the suits are beautifully tailored and each piece looks so livable but pulled together. And as a bonus, if you are a crazy procrastinator like me, you can watch the designers beard evolve over 77 days!

The Beginning on an Era? Or a Sign of the End?

Welcome loves!
My first blog post - Ya I know just what we need, another one. But in my defense - if Barbie can do it, why can't I? (Yes, I'm not even kidding:
Exhibit A). It's unclear what this will devolve into but the current theory is a smörgåsbord of fashion, art, inspiration and my obsessions du jour. I'm a little nutty and as such anticipate nothing less in this blog. I hope you all enjoy and would love to hear your comments! In celebration of the official kickoff of Hard on the Heart, Soft to the Touch, I am launching a blog blitz attack.
Enjoy!
