Damn you Kate!

So I know everyone and their mother is sick of hearing how great Kate Moss is...me too - I now officially coin the term Moss-fatigue. That being said, the images from her Love shoot are too amazing not to share. So I will skip waxing poetic over them and just let you decide.

In Continuation of my Study of Fabulousness

Life in Lomo

Tux Redux

Target boys dept. blazer, H&M shirt and belt, Zara pants, Target shoes, Limited cuff

Yes, I was impersonating a penguin today. I love these shoes to death - they are rip off Pierre Hardys with super high wedge heals that I have finally broken in. I'm not sure you can tell, but they have a strap up at the ankle too. I of course managed to get baby blue permanent acrylic paint on the sleeve today. Luckily it's on the lining, which still sucks since I usually roll the sleeves. Ah well, such is life.

In Nomeni Patri Et Fili Spiritus Sancti

Boondock Saints

So I was watching this movie for the millionth time and realized, not only how ridiculous hot these guys are, but that they are incredibly stylish while assassinating people. There uniform is incredibly simple (they are poor Irish) but very chic. I love a man in black.

Lazy Outfit Post

Usual Sunday = Standing brunch date with my girls. My friends visiting boyfriend joined and as usual, it was delicious. Absolutely gorgeous day. I made a new banner - what do you think? Aren't these girls the definition of fabulous. Anyway here is what I wore:
Dress: Petit Bateau Sweater: BCBG Girls - Stolen from my mother Belt: Old Navy Sandals: Rampage Headband: DIY - its hard to see but its a gold chains with pearls and swirly links mixed in- love love love it

Viktor Vauthier

I am oh so obsessed with this shoot by Viktor Vauthier. If you love photography like I do, definitely check out his blog, Viktor Vauthier Photographic Diary.

I Just Wanna Be Naked All the Time

Chris Heads

Okay, strange but true. I am finally beginning to feel hints of spring and my tendency to never want to get dressed transforms into my summer love of nudity. This is weird, I am okay with that. Its just that I love the feel of the sun and also the laziness and ease of wandering around in a bathing suit/underwear and a robe or huge sweater. Am I alone in this? I believe I have good company in Erin Wasson. Anyway for the sake of your eyes and sanity, I promise there will be no such "outfit posts" of this kind. However, I thought it important to share this slightly embarrassing information as part of my campaign to encourage everyone to fly their freak flag! You know you want to...

Sweat, Tears and BBQ: Sounds Good to Me

Today I cheered for my friends who were running in the Race for Rigby. The lazy ones, yes that would include me, stood around and grilled . I now smell deliciously like smoke. I'm not sure why, but even though I am a vegetarian, I love the smell of BBQ. Anyway, we had a blast and one of my friends even won! So proud...The day then devolved into an extended backyard party at some guy's house I just met. Why are the randomest days always the funnest? I contributed my secret recipe cookies - officially declared pastry crack. I also managed to somehow wrangle a free tee-shirt. Sometimes it pays to be a midget: no one wants the youth L's for some reason. I meant to get to the studio but had a major FAIL. Oh well, there's always tomorrow. Yay procrastination!

Feeling Oh So Burberry

Uber-unmotivated day. Ran errands with friends, baked a cake and wasted time. Tried to paint today - sat down for half an hour and it just wasn't coming. One thing I've learned, (the hard way), is that you can force creativity. You can make yourself work but sometimes it just won't come out right. Instead of wasting time, materials and sanity, it's best to just walk away. At times like this I never get anywhere anyway. However, this has been a hard lesson to learn, as I feel so guilty!
This holds true for getting dressed too. Some days I feel totally inspired and mix-match like a pro. Others, I either want to put no effort in or just can't seem to get it right. Today was a lazy dressing day, as demonstrated above. However, it was finally somewhat warm! I couldn't resist the cutoffs.

Sweater: Banana Republic, Cut-offs: DIY/donation bin creations, Boots: Etienne Aigner, Scarf: Bought in a hut in Zanzibar, Bag: Kenneth Cole

Le Sigh

tfs

She is way too gorgeous. And these photos are so beautiful - I am such a sucker for black and white photography. Her smoky eyes, combined with bed head and just an oversized tee is the definition of sexy. I love how her nipple ring adds a bit of edge. All told, too perfect...

Hippie Hippie Shake

Sea of Shoes

How much jail time do you get if you mug someone for their shoes? I am seriously considering paying the price for this outfit. These shoes are crazy! I also am drooling over Jane's bag and shirt. Actually, check out her blog, because her entire closet is fantastic. Oh if only I had an endless closet...Damn you reality and budget! This look is so Gucci's hippie-inspired season, which I could totally get into.
I have this multiple personality issue where I go from hard rock, to lady-like, to hippie, to ballerina. Of course, sticking to only one look would be way too boring for me anyway. A girl is never too old to play dress up!

Hello Cozy Chic

Erin Kleinberg Fall 2009

If you've never heard of Erin Kleinberg, familiarize yourself ASAP. Her clothes are fantastically slouchy and cozy - perfect for lounging or running out for coffee. Seriously, these are the types of clothes I live in. Throw on heels, a jacket and something shiny and your ready for night. For me, sexy isn't about trying so hard you look pained. While I love playing ladylike sometimes or going all out, mostly I'm more about subtlety. Smudgy liner, strategic draping and a little leg, shoulder or back. What's your opinion?

I Want it Painted Black

Pretty Guide

As my entire wardrobe leans towards shades of black, its no shock that I love this collage from Pretty Guide. Other obsessions along these lines:
  • Chains, chains, chains - layered as necklaces, coiled as bracelets or wrapped as headbands. I've definitely been draping myself lately.

  • Studs: I haven't actually managed to locate any in my area yet. However, I've totally been inspired by some of the DIY style going on in the blog-o-sphere.

  • Black and white tie-dye: All of my previous, a.k.a. middle school, experience were in horribly tacky colors. I'm reconsidering my previous tie-dye prejudices if it's updated with a more stylish color.
  • My pants have been on strike: As in I no longer feel like wearing them after an endless winter of jeans. I've been leaning more towards skirts, cut offs, dresses and gi-normous tops with leggings. I may look like a hobo at times, but at least I'm unique!

Timeless Advice From King Karl

Karl Lagerfeld Pictures, Images and Photos

"Don't drink when you wear stilettos. I can't advise you to get drunk at home to find out if you would be able to walk in them at a party"
and

"Better a split personality than no personality at all. If you have that feeling, it's a good sign. It means there is enough personality to split in two"

Yay Dumpster-Diving

Sorry for the bad quality!

Another "waiting for dinner to cook" creation. This time a dress from an old XL tee-shirt. Another find from my donation bin rummage: old Tory Burch black flats. Huzzah for free fashion.

Pretend to be a dancer in a music video as you perform mundane tasks...

Check out this list of 100 Things To Do When Your Upset from iCiNG. There's sure to be a few that put a smile on your face. Some of my personal favorites:
Order delivery food, just to bask in the glory of the fact that if you pay people, they will come to your door. With food. Warm, good food. What an age we live in, huh?

Write a ridiculous online dating profile & marvel at the people who come out of the woodwork. (“Oh, a threesome with you & your wife in New Jersey? Sign me up!”)

Grab a friend, dress up like tourists & go & do all the really schlocky things on offer in your city. Take LOTS of photos, & be sure to flash the peace sign in 70% of them.

Flirt with entirely inappropriate people.

Along a similar note, aka lists, this sight is...awesome?

To Create, One Must Destroy

Yesterday, while waiting for my dinner to finish cooking, I decided to annihilate some of my old magazines and add to the collage that is my wall. These are the results.
